Colorado Advertising Tax Bill To Be Presented This Week

by DB on January 26, 2010

An Advertising tax bill (House Bill HB-1193) will be proposed in the Colorado legislature this week. If this bill is passed by the Colorado legislature, affiliate marketing will become almost dead in Colorado. A number of companies will rather cut their ties with Colorado affiliates than to collect sales tax. A number of states are targeting affiliate marketers in a bid to bring in more income in the wake of budget shortfalls.

You can show your support for Colorado affiliate marketers by registering on the Performance Marketing Association’s website. PMA will keep you informed about the actions to be taken to squash this bill. You can also email your local legislators asking them to vote against the bill.

If you do not know what advertising tax is, please read this page on the PMA website.
